"RISEN!" - Week 5 "The Jesus Who Wants You Fully Alive"

Passion is a BIG DEAL in America. Hollywood movies, every soap opera, 1000's of books promote it. It's ALL OVER the Internet and our TV's - we're currently in the middle of March MADNESS! It's as if we think it's appropriate to be enthusiastic, to be excited, to have a passion for everything...EXCEPT GOD! Take a big time sporting event - folks cheering, high-fiving, hugging perfect strangers and we call 'em FANS...do that in church and we call 'em FANATICS (or worse)!! Yet, passion SHOULD BE a BIG DEAL spiritually!! St. Irenaeus said, "The glory of God is a human being FULLY ALIVE." (aka FULL of PASSION) Jesus was crystal clear about living with passion (Mk. 12:30-31) and literally said lukewarmness made him wanna puke (Rev. 3:15-16)! As new Christians most all of us start out that way - fully alive, full of passion; then we run outta gas. Paul warned against this (Rom. 12:11); Jesus gave us a Rx to combat this.
