Woe to the Ignorant - The Book of Amos, Week 8

It's one thing to be unsaved & ignorant of the things of God; it's completely different to be saved & the same!  Yet, many in Amos' day, and in our own, were woefully ignorant with regards to the Day of the Lord & so Amos pronounced a Woe to the Ignorant.  God had sent Amos in hopes that the people would repent, but to do so would require them to correct their ignorance by taking A Look Ahead, A Look Around and A Look Back.  As always, Amos' words are especially relevant to us today & beseech us to examine our own beliefs and practices.  Are we overly fascinated with the future in a day & age in which eschatology (study of End Times) is at a feverish pitch without understanding Jesus' return will be to bless AND judge?!  Are we overly preoccupied with programs & practicing a religion God rejects while ignoring the righteousness God requires?!  Do we understand that religion is not bad but what God has desired from the beginning is a relationship, and that idolatry WARS against that relationship?!
