John The Baptist, Part Two (Luke 3:1-20)
Sunday Feb 19, 2017
Sunday Feb 19, 2017
Pastor Buffy Cook brings our 10th message in the series "Follow Me: A Walk Through Luke's Gospel" in this message entitled "John The Baptist - Part Two." Many Baptist churches would take one look at John & perhaps say: "This guy says he is a Baptist, but definitely doesn't dress like one! He's slept in the outdoors for months on end, has a weird diet, and provokes denominational leaders. He's coo-koo for Cocoa Puffs & THE LAST guy we want!" Pastoral resume? File 13! Yet God used him mightily to in the power of the Holy Spirit preach a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins in which 1000's responded & Isa. 40:3-5 was fulfilled!! In this message, we finish our study of this great man of God, John The Baptist.

John The Baptist, Part One (Luke 3:1-20)
Sunday Feb 12, 2017
Sunday Feb 12, 2017
Pastor Buffy Cook brings our 9th message in the series "Follow Me: A Walk Through Luke's Gospel" in this message entitled "John The Baptist." In preparing to send His Son, Jesus, onto the stage of human history to embark on His public ministry and then to die for our sins, God first sends an Elijah-like forerunner, John The Baptist, to prepare the way. John is a preacher who by all accounts is VERY strange, quite politically incorrect & yet as wild as he looked & lived & preached was wildly popular among the masses. Jesus said of him "Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater." We then would do well to examine this great man of God! Listen in as we explore The Moment, The Messenger, The Message & The Ministry of John the Baptist.

The Boy Jesus In The Temple (Luke 2:39-52)
Saturday Feb 11, 2017
Saturday Feb 11, 2017
Pastor Buffy Cook brings our 8th message in the series "Follow Me: A Walk Through Luke's Gospel" in this message entitled "The Boy Jesus In The Temple." From 2yo to 30yo, we have only one INSPIRED account from the life of Jesus. Even as Christians, we fascinate ourselves with what we don't have (what was Jesus like as a young boy, as a teenager, as a 20 something?) & yet ignore that which we do have (Jesus at 12yo)! If a pic is worth 1000 words, then this ONE "Polaroid Moment" at age 12 of "The Boy Jesus In The Temple" is worth 1000 100 volume sets! This one single pic has SOO much to teach us about Jesus & about ourselves.

Monday Jan 30, 2017
Pastor Jimmy Hicks brings our 7th message in the series "Follow Me: A Walk Through Luke's Gospel" in this message entitled "God Uses Righteous People." Through Jesus' presentation at the temple after His birth, we see four instances where God used righteous people. As we see the righteousness of the parents, the patient, the promise & the prophetess on display, it leads us to ask ourselves "Are we righteous people?"

State Of The Church, Part 1 - What Is A Healthy Church?
Sunday Jan 15, 2017
Sunday Jan 15, 2017
Just as check-ups are essential to physical health, so they are to spiritual health. The NT in fact is more concerned with church health than church growth. As such, EVERY church should give itself a regular spiritual check-up. In this first of 2 messages, Pastor Buffy Cook helps us seek the answer to "What Is A Healthy Church?" by understanding that the key to church health is for a church to be BIBLICAL & BALANCED!

Dress For Success (Colossians 3:1-14)
Sunday Jan 01, 2017
Sunday Jan 01, 2017
Each of us over the next 365 days will face various decisions - finally stick to this diet, take a new job, start serving the Lord by x, y or z, on & on. We ALL will equally face some of the same decisions - what am I ever gonna wear today?! WHAT we wear is very important if we want to "Dress For Success." In Colossians 3, Paul picks out some "ancient artifacts," a style designed to stick around, as stylish spiritually for a Christian in 21st century AD as they were in the 1st century AD! In this message, Pastor Buffy Cook teaches us that if our desire in 2017 is to "walk in newness of life," we must, in part, "Dress For Success" which will require a Laying Aside of the Old Life and a Putting On of the New Life!!

Let's Go To Bethlehem! (Luke 2:1-20)
Sunday Jan 01, 2017
Sunday Jan 01, 2017
Don't you just LOVE a good Nativity scene?! Surely we all do & with good reason - they remind us that THE greatest proof of God's love & regard for mankind is the Incarnation! They remind us Jesus was literally born to die! Yet, we get Nativity scenes all wrong - were there only 3 Wise Men, did they come to the stable (Mt. 2:11)?! Even worse, we leave folks out! It would do us well to remember that there are lots of folks involved in the Christmas Story who don't show up in the Nativity scene - forgotten pieces, so to speak. We leave 'em out; yet God in His love & mercy & grace did not, does not. In this message, Pastor Buffy Cook leads us to, as did the shepherds, say "Let's Go To Bethlehem" & truly "Come and behold Him" to see that while we may leave out the Ignorant, the Indifferent, the Incredulous & the Iniquitous, God then did not, yea still today does not! May each of us personally & congregationally in our giving, serving & witnessing in 2017 reflect that truth!
