Ever seen a dead thing come back to life??  Why not?!  Because things don't normally come back to life but 2000 years ago JESUS DID!!!  Ever since, every Tom, Dick & Harry has tried to disprove it.  Why?!  Because Christianity stands or falls with the truth of the Resurrection; disprove it = dispose of it!  It's either a gargantuan fraud or the greatest fact in history!!!  In this message we explore the F-E-A-T That Demonstrates the Fact of the Resurrection - Fatal torment, Empty tomb, Appearances, Transformation.  As we explore the evidence that proves the resurrection to be the greatest fact in human history, we will gain assurance that Jesus is the resurrection and the life and whoever believes in him, though he die, yet shall live!!!

God's plan is that you & I would continue the work of Jesus...in fact there is no plan B! Yet, THE biggest threat to that truth is Y-O-U and largely thanks to an idol of YOUR own making. The Dawning Of A New Day - The Book of Amos, Week 13

This is our final message through the book of Amos and in our series "Amos: Little Prophet, Big Message."  What is THE greatest thing you've ever seen?!  THE greatest thing any person can ever see is THE LORD.  Much of the beauty of Amos lies in that it gives us a BIBLICAL picture of God.  No more so is that true than in Amos' 5th & final vision in Chpt. 9 where Amos sees the Lord Himself standing by an altar.  As we explore this 5th & final vision, we find a Destruction, an Explanation & a Restoration.  Through that vision, may God give us one last SHAKE that any vestige of spiritual complacency, moral perversity or religious hypocrisy evident in our lives may be removed!

Famine In The Land - The Book of Amos, Week 12

Reading the book of Amos and what was happening in the land of Israel is like reading any newspaper in America today!  The parallels between then and now are erry!  In this 12th message through the Book of Amos, Pastor Jimmy Hicks explores Amos 8:11-13 as Amos declares A Famine In The Land.  He examines A Tragedy Declared, The Character Declared, The Cause Declared, & The Consequences Declared.  What a word this word from one of God's prophets in the 8th century BC is to us today in the 21st century AD!!!

The Making of A Man/Woman of God

What is THE GREATEST compliment you've ever been paid?  Is it not when others see Christ in me/you and recognize us as a man/woman of God?!  Yet exactly what does it take to make such?!  In Amos 7:10-17 we find a confrontation between Amos & Amaziah.  Through their exchange God gives us a beautiful picture of what it takes to truly make a man/woman of God - There Are Problems They Will Create, Experiences They May Expect, Resources (Upon Which) They May Draw & Perseverances They Will Require.

Can I Get A Witness?! - 3 John

Ever heard the expression "Can I get a witness?"?!  But I often wonder are we more worried about GIVING or BEING a witness?!  3 John is the shortest NT epistle and yet gives us a gigantic glimpse into the early church, its people & its problems.  The letter is addressed to Gaius but John also discusses 2 other men - Diotrephes and Demetrius.  Each of us must honestly face the question - "Am I a good witness or a bad witness?"  In this message we consider these 3 men in the early church, note what kind of Christians they were and in the end challenge ourselves with the question am I giving or being a witness and what kind of witness am I being in my church?!

Life Is Sacred - Sanctity of Human Life Sunday

Ever seen an apparently healthy driver pull into a parking space marked "Handicapped" at the grocery?  Doesn't that cause a feeling of indignation to rise up in our chest?  Yet many of the 1.06 million women in 2016 who choose abortion over life will be told by "experts" that their child may be less than perfect or an inconvenience and thus encouraged to eliminate it!  Why in the first instance does being disabled engender a desire to protect, to defend, to stand up & speak out for; and in the other there's only a desire to get rid of "the problem"?!  People think THEIR answers, THEIR solutions, THEIR viewpoints are at least equal to, if not superior to, God's.  God says "My thoughts are higher than your thoughts, and My ways than your ways" (Isa. 55:9).  ALL human life is sacred!  In this message, I examine 3 reasons that ALL human life is sacred in honor of Sanctity of Human Life Sunday.

A Picture Is Worth 1000 Words - The Book of Amos, Week 10

Certainly you've heard the idiom, the expression, that a picture is worth a thousand words! Take this pic of my lovely wife & myself (who appear to be arguing but we're goofing off)! If we as finite humans understand the great value behind a single picture, how much more does an infinite God understand that?! And so in Amos 7:1-9, God give...s Amos 3 visions, one of locusts, one of fire and one of a plumbline, each a picture worth WAY MORE than a 1000 words! Each tells a beautiful story - one of the Sovereignty of God, one of the Mystery of Prayer and one of the Security of the Believer.
