If we say based on Scripture & current events, Jesus’ Return could literally be at ANY second; if we know Scripture teaches what we do in this life impacts the next…shouldn’t we be making the MOST of the rest of our time?! Peter, in 1 Peter 4:1-11, gives us 4 attitudes that a Christian can cultivate in his/her lifetime (“the rest of his/her time”) if he/she desires to make his/her life ALL that God wants it to be.

It's one thing to be unsaved & ignorant of the things of God; it's completely different to be saved & the same! Yet, many in Amos' day, and in our own, were woefully ignorant with regards to the Day of the Lord & so Amos pronounced a Woe to the Ignorant. God had sent Amos in hopes that the people would repent, but to do so would require them to correct their ignorance by taking A Look Ahead, A Look Around and A Look Back. As always, Amos' words are especially relevant to us today & beseech us to examine our own beliefs and practices. Are we overly fascinated with the future in a day & age in which eschatology (study of End Times) is at a feverish pitch without understanding Jesus' return will be to bless AND judge?! Are we overly preoccupied with programs & practicing a religion God rejects while ignoring the righteousness God requires?! Do we understand that religion is not bad but what God has desired from the beginning is a relationship, and that idolatry WARS against that relationship?!

The greatest health problem among God's people in the 21st century American church is Spiritual Myopia, Spiritual Near-Sightedness. We often can't see past the nose on our face, and so when someone says the word missionary, we lose sight of the fact that when Jesus saves ANY man, woman or child in that moment He transforms them into a missionary! In this message, we examine four words that give us a four step plan on How To Be a "Perfect" Missionary for Christ: Pray, Give, Go, Don't!!!

Ever heard the 1980s hit "Sad Songs (Say So Much)"? In these verses, Amos comes chanting a sad song, yeah A Funeral Song, as great sorrow & grief fill his heart and he feels an overwhelming anguish at the nation's certain doom. This sad song has as much to say to America in the 21st century as it did to Israel in the 8th century!! In this message, we examine The Setting, The Song & The Significance of Amos' Funeral Song. Ask yourself: 1) Am I more about Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Happiness or Seeking God that I might truly have life? 2) Do I, like Jesus, truly weep and lament over Jerusalem (America) and the millions of lost people therein? Karl Bath admonished pastors to "Preach with the Bible in one hand and the newspaper in the other." Recent events in Roseburg, Oregon on October 1st once again shocked & shook our nation - this time the madman with a gun specifically targeted Christians and at least 9 were martyred for their faith. In light of that, what should be our response as Christians? In this message, I propose four Biblical truths that should frame our response to the events in Oregon: 1) Understand the Reality, 2) Count the Cost, 3) Stand the Wall, 4) Digest the Word.
