Autopsy of a Dead Faith - The Book of Amos, Week 6
Sunday Oct 04, 2015
Sunday Oct 04, 2015
As the Great Physician speaks through Amos & with His scalpel peels back all the layers of façade and autopsies Israel's faith, we find not a vibrant, growing relationship but a DEAD faith - the cause of death being a triad of deadly sins (Material Luxury, Religious Hypocrisy, Unrepentant Obstinacy). We find at the end of the autopsy a dire warning to prepare to meet thy God, O Israel signed by the highest credentials in the land - those of YHWH, Creator & Judge. As we hear through Amos what the Spirit says to the churches may we allow the Great Physician to autopsy our own faith that we may be pleasing & acceptable before Him and prepared ourselves to one day meet our God face to face!!!

Divine Alienation - The Book of Amos, Week 5
Sunday Sep 27, 2015
Sunday Sep 27, 2015
If you watch enough football this season, you will quickly learn of the dangers of being "out of position." In our spiritual lives, our Christian walk, just as in football, position is everything! THE greatest way we can find ourselves "out of position" and in danger is Divine Alienation, living life apart from God! It's one thing to be out of position on the football field, it's a whole different thing to find oneself alienated from God, Maker of Heaven & Earth, Judge of the quick and the dead!! As we consider how the Israelites had Divinely Alienated themselves in the 8th century, we will prompted in the 21st century to examine OURSELVES and ask are there any areas of MY life in which I am suffering Divine Alienation, living life apart from God?

The Lion Has Roared - The Book of Amos, Week 4
Sunday Sep 20, 2015
Sunday Sep 20, 2015
Many in Amos' day likely thought he was "off his rocker" proclaiming that God would judge His own chosen people. And so, Amos presents a message of explanation in which he explained more fully why God would in fact judge Israel, that he indeed was not off his rocker and now what that "The Lion Has Roared." Amos encouraged his countrymen to Listen, Think & Understand. We would do well to heed that same advice and take our own spiritual EKG at the hands of the Great Physician with regards to these same three points - Listen, Think, Understand.

This Is What the Lord Says, Part Two - The Book of Amos, Week 3
Monday Sep 14, 2015
Monday Sep 14, 2015
Have you ever Amened a pastor when he preached against someone else's sins but when he started to step on your toes thought "Now he's gone from preachin' to meddlin'"?! Amos has gone from preaching to meddling! Having denounced the sins of & proclaimed the judgment of the pagan nations, he now does the same with God's chosen people, Judah & Israel. God was NOT happy with His people and would righteously judge them. Oh how THAT speaks not only to our nation but also to individual churches & Christians today 2900 years later!! If we today, through Amos, will hear that This Is What the Lord Says to the 21st century church & Christians, we will again discover a Pattern that Needs to Understood, People that Need to be Recognized and Principles that Need to be Applied.

This Is What the Lord Says - The Book of Amos, Week 2
Sunday Aug 30, 2015
Sunday Aug 30, 2015
If God wanted to capture the attention of our world today, perhaps He would simply resurrect Amos and have him to take to the airwaves and social media. From 1:3 to 2:3 the Lord roars through Amos a message of impending judgment to 6 pagan nations surrounding Judah and Israel. As we listen carefully to "This Is What the Lord Says," we find a Pattern That Needs to be Understood, People That Need to be Recognized & Principles That Need to be Applied.

The Lion Roars - The Book of Amos, Week 1
Sunday Aug 23, 2015
Sunday Aug 23, 2015
This is the first sermon in our new series through the book of Amos entitled "Little Prophet, Big Message." Amos is one of THE most relevant portions of the Word of God at this juncture in 21st century western Christianity. In fact Alistair Begg calls it "one of the most devastating statements to the contemporary church." Our first stop in our journey through Amos is Mt Zion where we find the Lord roaring like a lion thus the title of the message, "The Lion Roars." We find the Lord roaring like a lion during The "Best" of Times, through The "Least" of Men and forth The "Greatest" of Messages.

Honey From the Hebrew Hymnal - Walk This Way
Sunday Aug 16, 2015
Sunday Aug 16, 2015
This is the 3rd message in our series "Honey from the Hebrew Hymnal" in which we are dipping into the honeycomb of the Book of Psalms, Israel's ancient God-breathed hymnbook. In this message we explored Psalm 1. All of Bible history could be summed up in two men, two ways, two destinies. No wonder the Book of Psalms opens with a psalm that explores exactly that - in it we find The Way of Life (The Blessedness of the Righteous Man), The Way of Doom (The Desperation of the Wicked Man) and the Parting of the Ways.
