Speaking the Truth in Love About Homosexuality - What Did Jesus & Paul Say

This is the fourth & final message in our series "Contending for the Faith: Speaking the Truth in Love About Homosexuality."  In the series we are seeking God's heart, His mind, His Spirit, His Word with regards to some of the greatest questions facing the church at the beginning of the 21st century - those relating to homosexuality and same-sex marriage.  While many argue that Jesus had nothing to say about homosexuality, the truth is He addressed it in at least 3 ways (Mt. 5:17-20, 15:15-20, 19:4-6).  While many argue that while Paul himself had plenty to say about homosexuality, they dispute the Greek words in 1 Cor. 6 and refute the context of Rom. 1.  Yet Paul's message was clear in each of those two passages.  In this message, we explore EXACTLY what Jesus said and Paul wrote with regards to homosexuality and then answer the question WWJS (What Would Jesus Say) today to the LGBT community, to us, in regards to homosexuality. 

Honey From the Hebrew Hymnal - Reverence the Messiah

This is the 2nd message in our series "Honey from the Hebrew Hymnal" in which we are dipping into the honeycomb of the Book of Psalms, Israel's ancient God-breathed hymnbook.  In this message we explored Psalm 22.  We approached the psalm from two angles - 1) Eye Toward History (The Experience of David - as historical event in his life) and an Eye Toward the Cross (The Experience of Jesus - as fulfilled prophecy foretold by David).  Believe me THIS psalm WILL BLESS your soul as will this message!!

This is the second in our series "Contending for the Faith: Speaking the Truth in Love About Homosexuality."  In the series we are seeking God's heart, His mind, His Spirit, His Word with regards to some of the greatest questions facing the church at the beginning of the 21st century - those relating to homosexuality and same-sex marriage.  This message I entitled "The Bible Is A Heterosexual Book."  In it, we explored the truth that the Bible is UNDENIABLY a heterosexual book from Genesis to Revelation and that God's divinely intended norm for sexuality is heterosexuality and God's only acceptable union for ALL times, ALL people & ALL cultures is one man-one woman in the holy bonds of matrimony!!

This is the third in our series "Contending for the Faith: Speaking the Truth in Love About Homosexuality."  In the series we are seeking God's heart, His mind, His Spirit, His Word with regards to some of the greatest questions facing the church at the beginning of the 21st century - those relating to homosexuality and same-sex marriage.  The Bible asks some great questions as well as providing the answers to some of life's greatest questions, both of which are of eternal value.  In this message "The OT 'Clobber Passages'" we explore what the LGBT community deems the "clobber passages" (those the church has used to "clobber them over the head").  What can the OT "clobber passages" (Gen. 19, Lev. 18 & 20) teach us today August 2015 about speaking the truth in love with regards to homosexuality?!

Honey has numerous health benefits!  Wouldn't it be wonderful if we had something that did for us spiritually what honey can do for us physically?!  WE DO!  It's called music!  The Book of Psalms, the Hebrew Hymnal is honey for the soul!  In this message we dip into the honeycomb of God's Word and extract some honey from the Hebrew Hymnal (Psalm 8) that our hearts, minds & souls might be soothed!  We examine 7 aspects of God's Majesty that the Psalmist (David) extolls in praising OUR Lord.

This is the first in a new series "Contending for the Faith: Speaking the Truth in Love About Homosexuality."  In it we are seeking God's heart, His mind, His Spirit, His Word with regards to some of the greatest questions facing the church at the beginning of the 21st century - those relating to homosexuality and same-sex marriage.  First up, Love Does No Harm.  While the LGBT community argues that love is the fulfillment of the law and does no harm to it's neighbor and as such we must affirm our LGBT brothers and sisters, the Biblical response is that THE greatest expression of love, and love doing no harm, is to tell people God's truth, the greatest of which is the true, explicit, gospel and that Jesus' call to would be disciples is NOT affirmation but transformation!!

Are You Ready? - The Parable of the Talents

We spend a lot of time on our lives getting ready - High School, College, job interviews, weddings, hunting/fishing season, swimsuit season, etc.  But there's one event I would venture to say that most Christians spend less time & effort getting ready for than any other...Jesus' Return!  Many are better prepared for the upcoming football season than our Lord's Return!!  In the Parable of the Talents Jesus challenges us to examine ourselves whether we are being faithful or unfaithful with what He has entrusted to us.  Are you turning a spiritual profit with ALL the "working capital" He's given you???
